Emergency UK ‘very satisfied customers’ with Stripe S700 Reader and Give A Little
EMERGENCY UK, which provides free, high-quality care to people affected by conflict and poverty, turned to Give A Little when researching affordable, handheld contactless donation boxes to collect contactless donations at a series of events.

Alex continues:
We really like that you can create as many campaigns as you need with Give A Little and set some to be eligible for Gift Aid and marketing opt-in when donors have more time and then use a campaign with those features disabled when we need to collect donations more quickly. Our corporate partner tends to set up the S700 on a desk during the day so people can donate if they wish and then during the awards evening, the host will give a speech about the charity, show a video and then hand round the S700 so that people can make a donation and hand it onto the next person. It’s also great that we can check live on the night how much has been raised!
On why the S700 and Give A Little were appealing to the charity, Alex adds:
“We had tried other machines previously but were let down with connectivity issues and the fact that you needed a separate phone or tablet alongside the card reader. When we got the S700, it was easy to compare the performance with what we had been using before.
The S700 and Give A Little worked so well that we purchased a second device to make sure we could get to everyone in the room. The Give A Little software is so self explanatory - all donors have to do is tap what they want to donate and then hand the S700 on. As a small charity, we had also been put off by the high monthly subscriptions that other suppliers often charge, whereas we have found the combination of Give A Little, the S700 and Stripe to be very affordable. This is especially important as we are not using the devices all year round. The bottom line is that it’s been a big success for us- we are very pleased!”
Alex plans to extend the use of the S700 Readers to sister charity Emergency USA so watch this space for more on that!
