From first contactless tap to £100M: Give A Little Community marks major cashless fundraising milestone

We have some incredible news to share. Thanks to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our community of over 11,700 charities, Give A Little has officially passed a historic milestone: together, you have raised over £100 million in cashless and contactless donations.

Written by Vicky Hewlett 13 July 2026

When we facilitated our very first contactless donation back in 2019 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Clapham, our goal was simple. We wanted to create a mission-led, high-quality software platform that would act as an equaliser - ensuring that small charities wouldn't get left behind by the rapid decline of physical cash.

Fast forward to today, and that simple mission has grown into a powerful movement supporting charitable organisations of every size, from local community groups and parishes to household name charities like Cancer Research UK.

The accelerating shift to cashless giving

What makes this £100m milestone truly remarkable is the sheer velocity of growth we are seeing across the sector right now. To put it into perspective:

  • It took three years
for the Give A Little community to raise its first £10 million.

  • In 2025 alone
    , the community raised a record-breaking
    £31.55 million
    - representing a massive
    48% year-on-year surge
    in cashless giving.

These numbers are a testament to how quickly donor behaviour has shifted, and more importantly, how brilliantly our community has adapted to meet their donors where they are.

Reflecting on the milestone,

Ben Stewart, Give A Little MD and Co-Founder
, shared:

"Reaching the £100 million milestone is a deeply proud moment for everyone at Give A Little. When we launched in 2019 and facilitated that very first contactless donation, we had a vision of making giving effortless, but the speed at which the community has grown has surpassed all our expectations. This achievement doesn't belong to us; it belongs to the incredible community of charitable organisations, parishes, and voluntary organisations who trust us every day, and the millions of generous donors who have tapped to support them. We remain committed to innovating and helping good causes thrive in a cashless world."

Nick Jenni, Consultant
, who was there on day one as the National Procurement Officer for the Church of England's Parish Buying service, added:

"Making that first-ever contactless donation was an exciting milestone, but to see the entire Give A Little community reach £100 million in just a few short years is absolutely staggering. The sheer speed of this growth shows just how vital this platform has become... I feel extremely privileged to have been there at the very beginning."

Praised by leading charitable organisations

The true power of this community lies in the unique ways different organisations use our point-of-donation software to grow their giving.

Grace Emmett, Strategic Lead for Giving Mechanisms & Technology at the Church of England
, noted the platform's ongoing role in church communities:

"We are now in our seventh year of working with Give A Little and they continue to be an important partner for helping our churches to grow giving through digital mechanisms. It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating their £50 million milestone, so to see the platform’s community reach £100 million already is truly remarkable."

At the same time, the platform's agility allows it to scale effectively across multiple fundraising streams for major national causes.

Sophie Keeler, Programme Manager, Giving Platforms at Cancer Research UK
, shared:

“Reaching £100 million raised is a phenomenal achievement for the Give A Little community. Over the last six years, the platform has become deeply embedded in Cancer Research UK’s cashless strategy across multiple fundraising streams. The team’s collaborative approach and willingness to develop the platform around real charitable organisation needs make them an invaluable partner for us.”

For organisations utilising our newest accessible innovations like the

Give A Little Champion App
, which allows supporters to take contactless donations directly on their own smartphones - the community focus stands out.
Laura Coyne, Fundraising Operations Manager at Wales Air Ambulance
, stated:

“Since joining the Give A Little community in 2024, we’ve experienced firsthand how charity-focused the platform truly is. The team genuinely listens to what we need to succeed, and it’s wonderful to see that collective approach culminate in this massive £100 million milestone. We are incredibly proud to be a part of this journey and this amazing community!”
