Give A Little makes Gift Aid Small Donation Scheme claims easier
Due to high demand, we have introduced a set of new features to make it easier for you to make claims under the Gift Aid Small Donation Scheme (GASDS).
October 30, 2024Your Give A Little Gift Aid report will now include a separate section presenting all donations which are eligible to be claimed under the GASDS Scheme. We have also made it easier for you to manage your campaign Gift Aid preferences.
Nearly half (47%) of the respondents said their charity had not claimed through GASDS and 11% had no knowledge of the scheme. For those who had claimed, the value ranged from £80 to the maximum permitted amount of £2000 in the previous financial year. Respondents said that the £30 limit on GASDS made paperwork and claiming difficult.
The changes we have introduced will help tackle these challenges head on by both raising awareness of the scheme to the 8,900+ charities using Give A Little as well as making GASDS claims much quicker and easier.
GASDS allows some charitable organisations to claim a 25% top up payment on the following up to a total of £8,000*, without needing to have a Gift Aid declaration:
Cash donations of £30 or less
Contactless card donations of £30 or less collected on or after 6 April 2019
*Your GASDS claim cannot be more than 10 times your Gift Aid claim. For example, you can claim on £1,000 worth of donations through GASDS if you’ve received £100 of Gift Aid donations in the same tax year.
A dedicated GASDS report so that you know which donations are eligible to be claimed.
A new ‘advanced Gift Aid’ section when creating a new Give A Little App campaign, which includes the option to only show the Gift Aid screen if the donation is over £30. Any donations of £30 or under will then appear in the GASDS report
A more streamlined post donation flow which makes the process quicker and easier for the donor:
There will be a new, clean and simple look and feel with a standardised, white background for the post donation screens including Gift Aid; marketing consent and receipts; making it easy for donors to read
Donors can select which post donation screens they are shown, putting them in control and making the donor journey faster and smoother
