Introducing the new Give A Little devices dashboard: Smarter device management for every charitable organisation
Donation devices are central to modern fundraising, but no two charitable organisations run their operations in quite the same way. A busy cathedral, visitor attraction, hospital or museum might have donation stations permanently stationed across large buildings. A national charity running seasonal appeals and events might keep large numbers of devices in storage, shipping them out to volunteers and fundraisers as and when they are needed. Meanwhile, thousands of community groups, parish churches, and local charities rely every week on just one or two dedicated contactless donation devices to power their fundraising.
3 November 2026Regardless of scale, every organisation shares the same challenge: Knowing devices are powered up, connected, and ready to collect donations whenever a donor wants to give.
To support our diverse community, we have introduced a dedicated
Here is how different organisations across our community will benefit from the new dashboard.
Large sites and multi-device venues: At-a-glance operational peace of mind
For heritage sites, cathedrals, hospices, and hospital trusts, donation devices are often spread across large buildings or grounds. Walking the floor every morning to check whether each device is active or connected to Wi-Fi is time-consuming.
- Instant status visibility:The new summary banner lets your team see immediately whether all units areReadyor if any require intervention.
- Pinpointed locations with ‘Placements’:By setting clear placements in the dashboard (such as "Church Entrance", "Café Counter", or "Outpatients Foyer"), anyone picking up an alert knows exactly where the physical unit is located without searching the building.
- Actionable notifications:If a dislodged plug or an interrupted Wi-Fi signal takes a device offline, you can identify the exact unit and dispatch staff or volunteers to resolve it before donation opportunities are lost.
Campaign and event fundraisers: Stress-free prep and deployment
Many charitable organisations do not keep all their devices running permanently. Instead, they store devices centrally and dispatch them for community fundraising events, marathon cheer points, or seasonal appeals.
- Separate active devices from reserves:When devices are placed in storage, you can assign them to ‘Reserve’. This marks them as ‘Resting’, ensuring they do not trigger false offline alerts or clutter your active monitoring screen.
- Pre-deployment housekeeping:Before shipping devices to volunteers, the dashboard flags non-urgent maintenance, such as pending app updates or reserve devices that have not been powered on for several months.
- Remote troubleshooting:If a volunteer at an event reports an issue, your central team can check the device remotely to see where the issue lies, helping you guide them through a fix on the phone in seconds.
Community organisations with one or two devices: Simplicity and reassurance
Even if you only run a single donation station, the new dashboard gives you instant reassurance. At a glance, you can confirm your device is running smoothly and ready for donors without having to navigate complicated settings.
- Quick confidence checks:When you log in, a glance at the dashboard confirms your devices are healthy and taking donations.
- The Donation Chain:If a device is ever unable to take a donation, the visualDonation Chainbreaks down the journey into five simple stages:Power Connection App Card reader Donations. Instead of puzzling over what is wrong, the chain immediately highlights the broken link, whether it is a lost Wi-Fi connection, an uncharged r
eader, or a disconnected cable.
- Keeping up to date:Clear prompts alert you whenever a new Give A Little app version is available, ensuring your donors always enjoy the latest features and security updates.
Taking the friction out of DIY setups with Device Manager
For organisations using our DIY approach with off-the-shelf Android tablets and SumUp or Stripe card readers, the devices section highlights any tablets that are not yet using our Device Manager app, linking directly to a step-by-step installation guide. Device Manager locks your tablet into kiosk mode, automatically relaunches Give A Little after a restart, provides richer device data to your dashboard, and manages software updates on your behalf.
Protecting and uplifting your donation revenues
Missed donations rarely stem from a lack of generosity; they happen because a cable came loose, a card reader battery ran flat, or a device was packed away without being updated.
By giving you clear visibility over your devices and practical tools to maintain them, the new Devices Dashboard helps protect every Point of Donation so you can focus on making giving easier for your donors.
